Sushmita Sen who is busy in her directorial debut 'Jhansi Ki Rani', a historical project, is finding it difficult to complete the same herself. So, she is stated to be taking the help of director Roby Grewal of the 'Samay' fame, especially in availing his technical expertise. Though Roby's first film 'Samay' was critically acclaimed yet it failed at the box office. Similarly, Roby's second film, 'Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar', which was released last year didn't fare to well. Apex court blow to Sushmita car dealer / wednesday 09 july 2008
New Delhi, July 9: The Supreme Court today refused to stop criminal proceedings against Mumbai-based car dealer and financier Haren Choksey who had helped actress Sushmita Sen import a Toyota Landcruiser in 2005. Choksey, who is facing charges of forgery and cheating under the Indian Penal Code for various irregularities relating to the import of the car, was arrested on April 25, 2008. The dealer, who is out on bail, is also facing parallel proceedings under the Customs Act for undervaluing and underdeclaring octroi duty in the same case. [Read more]

A prolonged absence from the big screen, weighty issues, legal trouble and a pet project thats been in the works for ages now a mere actress, you'd imagine, would chew off all her manicured nails if she had all this to contend with. But then, no one ever said that the sensuous Sushmita Sen was ever just an actress. Sush was, more than ever, strongly evocative of the diva tag thats been applied to her when she came to the city recently. Dressed in a LBD, shooting a sultry number with Govinda for the David Dhawan directed Do Knot Disturb , Sush is, as she put it, too happy. I don't know how to react to half of the things people say, she says nonchalantly, when asked about her weight. I'm very comfortable in my own skin. Fat, thin, beautiful or ugly I am happy being who I am. And what my weight is or how big I look is not anyones business, only mine, and I'm just too happy with it! [Read more]
Sushmita... Now for those of you who have just stumbled onto this site and are trying to find out who Sushmita is then SHAME ON YOU! How can you not know of Miss Universe 1994? The first South-East Asian Miss Universe. And now one of the big names in Bollywood? Bollywhat I hear you shout...Bollywood - the answer to Hollywood in India. But let me start at the very beginning.
Sushmita Sen, a bong, was born in Hyderabad and then moved to Delhi early on (so now you know why she has such a fabulous Urdu dialect). She was born on the 19th of November, 1975 (and co-incidentally her numbers are the numbers of power and success - she was clearly destined). She was a complete tomboy and used to hang out with her school DADAS (which is like the head of the gang) and she accidentally fell into modeling. And thank God she did.
